Proficiency in Security Awareness STCW A-VI/6-1.
Prerequisites:Â None.
Certificate validity: The proficiency in Security Awareness does not expire.
Certification: On completion of the course, you will be awarded a certificate in accordance with the following:
Regulation VI/6: paragraph 1 and Section A-VI/6. Paragraphs 4 of the STCW Convention and Code 1978.
Duration: 1/2 Day.
What is the Proficiency in Security Awareness course and who is it for?.
All seafarers employed or engaged in any capacity on ships required to comply with the ISPS code are required to undertake the stcw proficiency in Security Awareness course.
The course provides necessary knowledge for personnel intending to work on ships who will not have any designated security duties.
Upon completion, candidates should be able to demonstrate competence to:
- Contribute to the enhancement of maritime security through heightened awareness.
- Recognise security threats.
- Understand the need for and methods of maintaining security awareness and vigilance.
