Description
Duration: 6 Days – Monday to Saturday, 0900hrs – 1800hrs daily.
Prerequisites:Â None. This is an entry-level course, required for all persons wishing to work aboard seafaring vessels 24m and above.
Certification:Â Upon successful completion of the STCW Basic Safety Training course (STCW95 & STCW 2010), candidates will receive attendance certificates, valid for 5 years in the following:
The 6 day STCW Basic Safety Training course (STCW95 & STCW 2010)Â is required to be undertaken by all seafarers in accordance with section A-Vl/1 of the STCW Code. The course is intended to ensure that seafarers are aware of the hazards of working on a vessel and enables you to respond appropriately to an emergency. The course modules below make up the mandatory familiarisation and basic safety training requirements for all seafarers is an ideal course for anyone looking for Seafarer basic safety training at a recreational level or those wishing to make a career at sea.
In accordance with the STCW 2010 Manila amendments which became mandatory on the 1st of January 2014, all seafarers that did not have specifically designated security duties whereby the Proficiency in Designated Security Duties (PDSD) course will is required and now included when completing the basic training package.
The modules listed within the course are a requirement for commercially endorsed Yachtmaster Offshore or Ocean that are working towards the MCA STCW Master Yacht 200 Tonnes (OOW 500 tonnes). And are also required by Masters and deck officers in commercial vessels over 24m in length and less than 500GT.

The course is run over 6 consecutive days in a world-class training facility in Split, Croatia.
The course is given in English, However, we can arrange for the course to be given in alternative languages, please contact us directly to discuss this (minimum numbers are required in alternative languages).
Accommodation is not included in the price but we are able to provide accommodation if required – please contact us if accommodation is required, Alternatively Split has some of the best accommodation in the world.
