“Only thing needing improvement is the main sail line, which was incredibly tight. Perhaps some grease on the jib is needed?”
“Amazing experience - very well organised RYA coastal skipper practical course with an amazing instructor who was patient, extremely knowledgeable and experienced, funny and friendly. He made it easy for myself (55) and my son (18) to learn and enjoy a week of sailing. Could have not wished for better. Office team was very responsive and helpful. Will definitely want to repeat the experience. 10/10”
“trying to compress the “info to know in advance”; encourage people to bring lots of cash”
“No comment. It is not possible to tailor a course to each individual so balancing everything can be challenging. I thought the instructor organise it very well taking account of each crew members needs.”
“Overall I enjoyed the course. I think it might be helpful to have a schedule of sorts or discuss the plan for the day the evening before. We had two quite young and seemingly disinterested guys on the course and felt like we did a lot of waiting around for and catering to them. A schedule may have helped them sort themselves out or the rest of us get on with it without them. Understand wasn’t the easiest situation for Marcus either but was a bit frustrating as a course member. The course and Marcus did teach me about sailing though and curious to learn more”
“Would’ve been nicer to be informed about the defective equipment and amenities on the yacht. Overall the experience was good.”
“Embarkation and briefs were quite long for the first day, I think Marcus got us going alot quicker in the. Yakov was a good instructor but I though Marcus was a bit more focused in the second week. Yakov's route was fine and Stari Grad was nice. But Marcus took us to nicer places like Kut and Komiza on Vis while keeping costs down by using mooring buoys. I think Yakov's route was maybe compromised by having to go to Trogir for the jib mend. Also the boat was nice but was feeling its age and the end of the season with a bunch of small issues cropping up with the tear in the jib, the furling main issues and the port nav light being the more important ones. However overall it did not impact enjoyment and myself and Amy really enjoyed our training and holiday. Rated the home port a bit lower as it is a bit of a trek to get to either by the infrequent passenger ferry or by the more costly regular ferry and taxi combo but otherwise it is a nice place and I get why a small operation would base there rather than on the mainland. Thanks for a great holiday and for the training and qualifications we really had a great time.”
“All Good. Emjoyed but hot.”
“Great”
“Air con would be extremely beneficial for the crew and skipper teaching the students. This would improve sleep and therefore would improve performance.”
“The only feedback Crawford and I have is regarding some of the equipment on board. The ferry lines available on board were quite large and heavy, making it difficult to maneuver on a smaller yacht. Another thing we noticed is that the mainsail frequently jammed while furling and unfurling. We were told it was an older sail, so a newer one might be beneficial for students because it was quite taxing to try to unfurl.

Other than those things we noticed. The experience was fantastic and we had a wonderful time during the course. Thank you!”
